"Carol Franks has created a simple-to-use and helpful way for students to conquer
their fear of verb endings. Teachers should challenge them to try the different ability
levels," Suzy Seraphine-Kimel, award-winning Florida Spanish teacher & creator of

Verb It Feedbackolder people!!!!!

In coming week, more and more Verb It feedback will be posted here. Please send us your comments, suggestions, photos and videos. Next time your club, meetup group, Spanish class or family play Verb It, take some pics, or better yet, record a video and email it to the Verb It Nation.

Your suggestions are also taken seriously. Read below how your suggestions have been implemented and your questions answered.

Love It!

"Love the game! Do you have a German version?" Debbie Alexander, Spanish/German Teacher, South Fort Myers High School, Florida

¡Es fantástico!

  • "El juego es muy bien y divertido y también, todos pueden aprender más de español. Y, gracias Carol, otra vez por tu juego. ¡Es fantástico!" Patti Siegel, Spanish Teacher, Eugene Oregon & Organizer, The Eugene Spanish-English Intercambio Meetup Group

Really Liked It!

  • "Some of my lower level students in Grades 7 and 8 played Verb It and really liked it. They especially like the Pasaporte questions. They also really enjoyed learning new things about different Hispanic cultures." Craig Hindman, Spanish Teacher, Dewitt, Upstate New York

Fun Way to Practise Verbs

  • "Verb It is a fun way to practise Spanish verbs while learning interesting facts about Spanish-speaking countries. I recommend it to students of levels."Karen J. McMullin, Spanish Instructor, Trent University, Canada

A Hit! Five stars!

  • "The game was a hit! I gathered four of our members to try it out last Sunday.  One modestly declared himself a beginner, but was blowing through every card, so he moved up to intermediate and still did well. Another player learned that she wasn't as advanced as she thought and needs to work on her conjugations...... Overall, I would give this 5 stars.  One of the teachers in our group says: You can never have a successful conversation workshop mixing people with different fluency levels  I'm eager to introduce her to Verb It!  I think that rule may have just flown out the window!" Dale Penn, Retired Banker & Organizer, Miami Spanish Language and Culture Meetup Group

Suggestions & Questions

Spanish Immersion Verb It

To encourage Verb It players to immerse themselves in Spanish, Verb It rules and assembly instructions have been translated into Spanish and are now on-line ready for you to download. In addition, there are two lists of useful 'gaming' vocabulary for beginner and intermediate players also on-line. Check these Spanish documents out at: Cool Tips for Teachers.

Assembly Time

It takes about 30 mintues for one person to assemble the game, most of that time is spent punching out the cards. (Question from Dale Penn, Miami.)

Verb Sheets

Actual sheets of verb and Pasaporte cards can be veiwed on the contents page to give you an idea of the questions.

Laminate

If your game is to face heavy classroom wear, laminate, laminate, laminate.

Share the Cost of the Games

If you need more than one game for your class and can't afford the expenditure, search out another Spanish teacher in your school or in your district to share the cost of the games with you, then share the games. Perhaps set up a Verb It competition between your classes. Shipping costs have recently decreased sharply since games are now being sent by FedEx from Buffalo, NYS.

Make a Video

Make a video the next time you and your friends, your Spanish club, meetup group or class play Verb It, upload it onto YouTube, then email us the video embed code and it will be posted on this site.
